Create Value, Always — The Ninth Commandment

Always Create Value

At Clarity Equity Group, we live by a simple, yet powerful principle: Always create value. This isn’t just a business strategy; it’s a fundamental part of our ethos, influencing everything from the content we share to the deals we bring to our investors.

As a sponsor, or indeed any business professional, your constant focus should be on delivering tangible value. We strive to embody this in every interaction:

  • We hope these blog posts and the insights we share add value to your understanding of real estate investment.
  • Our Ten Commandments (principles) are designed to provide valuable guidance.
  • Our website is curated to be a valuable resource for you.
  • Most importantly, every deal we present is meticulously structured to bring significant value to our clients and investors.

We believe in substance over fluff. This means we never reach out to our clients or investors without a clear purpose and something valuable to convey. A quick “just wanted to catch up” call without a specific, value-driven agenda is, quite frankly, a waste of everyone’s precious time and a little disrespectful. Our time, and more importantly, your time, is valuable.

The Power of “Good News Money”

One of the most exciting ways we create value, particularly through our investment placement, is by finding what we call “good news money.” This is essentially found money – unexpected gains that were never underwritten or anticipated in the initial projections. It’s about proactively identifying opportunities to enhance returns beyond the planned scope.

For example, in a 93-unit property, we secured a $30,000 redecorating bonus simply by negotiating a new laundry lease. We replaced old washer-dryers with new ones, and unexpectedly, the lease provided this bonus. That’s $30,000 that went directly into our pockets and, more importantly, into our investors’ pockets. This was a clear, tangible example of creating value where none was initially expected. While we aren’t involved in property management any more we encourage our sponsors to always to be on the lookout for ways to make unplanned for gains.

Creating value means continuously looking for ways to improve, to optimize, and to deliver more than what’s merely anticipated. It’s about being proactive, innovative, and always seeking out opportunities that benefit our clients and partners. This commitment to value creation is what truly sets us apart.
